Union artillery superiority was often times matched by excellent positions held by Confederate gunners.Had the union artillerists held beter or equal positions would Confederate artillery have been decimated or could they have held their ground,also did the types of projectiles and their use apply to their successes or downfalls?

Did the action that occured on day two prompt the A.N.V. and the A. of the potomac to concentrate on the center of their lines or did it lead the union to focus on their flanks?

Gettysburg: Day 3

A battle in and around a small town in Pennsylvania had been raging for two hot July days When Gen.Robert E. Lee decided that a full frontal assuult on the weaker Union position in their center was the only way to drive the enemy from the field.Failed attempts to crush the Army of the Potomac's flanks on the second day of battle and other factors led him to belive that the A.N.V. could not take the,Now reinforced,flanks of Meade's "fish-hook" line.Should Lee have tried to disengage the enemy or possibly made another flanking movement?Did Lee make the right decision to order the assult now Known as 'Pickett's charge' even after Longstreet told Lee that he seriously Doubted the attack would be successful?

Flags were easily visible in the heat of battle through the clouds of smoke.A units Colours were a prised possesion and many men died protecting their standards.Being a colour bearer was an honor, even though the risk was great, many dreamt of leading their unit forward carrying their Nation's flag.Which flag would you have fought under and why?(the Stars and Bars or Stars and Stripes-both pictured)
